Ontario to partly fund dialysis for travellers after program cancellation outcry

TORONTO — Ontarians with kidney failure will get some funding for dialysis services while travelling abroad, Health Minister Christine Elliott announced Thursday, following concerns over the cancellation of provincial out-of-country health insurance.

The government announced earlier this year that it was ending the insurance program, saying it didn’t provide value to taxpayers and provided only limited coverage.
