A southwest Wisconsin legislator is asking the governor to consider a plan that would re-open the state’s tourism and hospitality industry before May 26th. Representative Travis Tranel has written to Governor Tony Evers and Tourism Secretary-designee Sara Meaney calling for an immediate meeting of the Governor’s Council on Tourism. In the letter, Tranel writes the Tourism Federation of Wisconsin has requested the state form a bi-partisan commission to create a plan for having tourism-related businesses open prior to Memorial Day weekend.
