Heritage Line’s Violet is sailing Halong Bay in Vietnam once more, after a three-month renovation that “completely overhauled” its suites and public areas. Heritage also announced a new itinerary, sailing the Mekong in Laos on board the new Anouvong. With eight staterooms and two suites in a French Colonial design, the ship will begin her maiden voyage on September 29, 2020.
Violet, meanwhile, will offer two- and three-day cruises in an elegant setting on a ship resembling a traditional Asian junk. All six of its meticulously designed cabins have floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies and in-room Jacuzzis. There’s also a gym, a sauna and a rooftop sundeck.
Maintaining the Art-Deco-Indochinese décor for which the 12-passenger ship is known, the redesign included both of Violet’s Junior Suites and all four Imperial Suites, adding new or restored furniture, curtains, fabrics, textiles, tiles, wooden flooring and decorations, as well as modern touches and new televisions.
